Prayer Ministry
Prayer Ministry Purpose

The ministry provides an opportunity for members to pray individually or in corporate agreement, in accordance with God’s word. (Luke 11:1-10; Eph 6:18-19)

Prayer Committee: A prayer committee, consisting of the director and three other members plans an annual prayer strategy for Word of life.  They pray specifically for the Pastors, leaders and ministries on an ongoing basis. They collect prayer request from the congregation and pray as needed.  They oversee an emergency prayer team comprising of about 12 individuals who handle prayer request of urgent nature. They also teach on prayer. (Eph 6:18-19; Luke 18:1; Acts 6:4)

Emergency Prayer Team:  Members are contacted by phone or email to pray immediately about urgent matters as they arise for healing or any form of intervention by God. (Eph 6:18-19, Phil 4:6)

Pre-Service Prayer:  Members pray specifically for the Pastor/Speaker of the morning.  Prayer also emphasizes on the Holy Spirit bringing alertness and receptiveness to the congregation that through that service they would experience life change as God’s word is shared. (Eph 1: 17-18; Col 4:2)

Corporate Prayer:  Members gather for an hour of prayer.  Prayer focuses on worship and seeking God on behalf of our country and the nations around the world.  Praying for our leaders in government, our judicial system, our military, our school system and our family values. (2 Chron 7:14)

Prayer & Fast: Members are encouraged to set aside a day for fasting and humbly seeking God to fulfill His promise of revival, revelation, transformation and redemption in the local churches and the communities at large.  This may include choosing one day weekly, the giving up of just a meal, an activity, or a day or more even during a corporate forty-day prayer & fast session. (Matt 6:6-18; 9:14, 15; 2 Chron 7:14 Col 4:2)

Prayer Walk/Drive: Members quietly take prayer to the streets of the communities as they walk or drive declaring God’s word for the building up of His Kingdom. (Gen 13:17; 1 Thes5:18; Col 4:2 John 5:17; Jeremiah 32:27)
